Wound Care Somerville & Hillsborough, NJ

Being one of only two physicians in our region who is certified by the American Board of Wound Management, Dr. Edward Buch specializes in creating individualized care plans for each patient at Central Jersey Surgeons. Dr. Buch also works with renowned wound care centers to continually bring advanced techniques to our patients. Most wound care is treated in our Central Jersey Surgeons’ office, while Dr. Buch works along with rehabilitative and nursing home facilities. He diagnoses the underlying problem that caused the wound in order to ensure a deeper level of healing. Your treatment plan may change with time and is based on your medical history and results of testing you may need. Dr. Buch utilizes the most up-to-date materials to heal wounds, including gels, collagen formulation, honey-based creams, skin grafting and more. The experienced Central Jersey nursing team helps provide a multidisciplinary assessment for each patient, complemented with advanced case management to help monitor and stage your healing.

Wounds We Treat

Our goal is to address your recovery process so you can return to a life free from the pain and discomfort of chronic and non-healing wounds. Wounds we treat include, but are not limited to:

  • Venous stasis ulcers
  • Arterial ulcers
  • Diabetic wounds/ulcers
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Non-healing surgical wounds
  • Complex soft tissue wounds
  • Traumatic wounds
  • Infected wounds
  • Burns and radiation wounds

One non-surgical means of addressing a wound is Unna Boot application:

An Unna boot is a special compression dressing that incorporates medication into the bandage to help heal and comfort irritated skin. Typically used in patients with venous insufficiency disease (disease of the veins and the valves within veins) these dressings help alleviate the swelling and irritation associated with this condition.
